Whiteville, NC (May 10, 2021) – A pedestrian from Fayetteville was killed in a crash that took place over the weekend on J.K. Powell Boulevard. The collision happened on Saturday, May 8th near the intersection with West Burkhead Street.

The Whiteville Police Department, along with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, responded to the accident scene. According to police, 26-year-old Khadijah Bellamy, of Fayetteville, was walking on J.K. Powell Boulevard when she was hit by a car driven by 30-year-old Jamon Jackson, of Whiteville. Rescue crews arrived at the scene and rushed Bellamy to Columbus Regional Healthcare System where she died as a result of her injuries. There were no other injuries reported.

The crash remains under investigation and there is no word on whether any charges are expected. Anyone with information should contact Lieutenant Riggins with the Whiteville Police Department.

Reidsville, NC (April 22, 2021) – The Reidsville Police Department responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident on Wednesday, April 21st. The crash happened around 9:25 p.m. on Barnes Street near the intersection with East Street.

According to police, a man was walking on Barnes Street when he was hit by a vehicle. The man was then struck by a second vehicle when he was lying in the road. Both of the vehicles fled the scene after the incident. The victim was critically hurt in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. His name has not been released at this time.

One of the vehicles involved is believed to be a 2003-2005 Silver Honda Accord. The vehicle is expected to have significant front-end damage.

Southern Shores, NC (April 21, 2021) – A man from Connecticut died in a pedestrian crash that took place last week in the Outer Banks. The crash happened on Friday, April 16th along Ocean Boulevard near Chicahauk Trail in Southern Shores.

According to officials, Roger Henry Oullette, Jr., 65, was visiting the area on a family vacation. On Friday evening, he attempted to cross Ocean Boulevard when he was hit by a vehicle traveling through an intersection. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and treated Oullette. He was later taken to Norfolk General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the car was not injured and has not been identified at this time.

It does not appear as though speed or alcohol played a role in the accident. There is now ord on any potential charges and no further information is available.

Spring Lake, NC (April 15, 2021) – A 41-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian crash that took place in Spring Hill on Thursday morning. The collision happened around 5:47 a.m in the 1200 block of North Bragg Boulevard.

The Spring Lake Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to a report from the scene, the woman was walking in the road when she was hit by a car. When officers arrived, she was found unresponsive. The woman was later identified as 41-year-old Venita Robinson. She was later pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 55-year-old man. He was not hurt in the crash.

At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. There is no word on any potential charges. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Spring Lake Police Department or Crimestoppers.

Davidson County, NC (April 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured following a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Davidson County on Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened around 2:25 p.m. along Interstate 85.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking near the southbound lanes of the highway when they were struck by the tractor-trailer. The unidentified victim suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Lexington for further treatment. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the collision. There is no information on the events leading up to the accident. Police are still investigating at this time and it is unknown whether any charges are expected to be filed.

Statesville, NC (April 9, 2021) – A toddler died in a pedestrian crash in Statesville on Tuesday, April 6th. The incident took place on 5th Street near the intersection with Winston Avenue and Garner Bagnal Boulevard.

The Statesville Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to police, the boy was near the road when he was hit by a 2010 Ford Taurus that was traveling southbound on 5th Street. The boy was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash.

The driver of the Taurus was not identified. An investigation is still ongoing at this time and there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.

Kinston, NC (April 6, 2021) – A 62-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian crash on Tuesday morning in Kinston. The collision took place just before 8:00 a.m. in the 100 block of East King Street.

According to a report from the scene, Sue Williams was trying to cross that road when she was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Williams sustained critical injuries in the collision. She was rushed to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where she later died from her injuries. Williams was later identified as a Records Processing Assistant with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, where she had worked since 2004.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified and was not injured in the crash. There have been no charges at this time. The incident remains under investigation by the Kinston Police Department.

Iredell County, NC (April 1, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Iredell County on Thursday, April 1st. The collision took place around 5:15 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 901 near the intersection with Warren Bridge Road.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to troopers, 39-year-old Amber Trivette Hudspeth, of Union Grove, was walking near the roadway when she was hit by a Honda Pilot that was traveling in the eastbound lanes. The Honda driver was identified as a 47-year-old man from Laurel Springs. Hudspeth died at the crash scene. There were no other injuries reported.

The road was closed for about two hours following the incident. Motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible and to use caution when traveling near the scene. An investigation is ongoing at this time.

Cabarrus County, NC (March 29, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Cabarrus County on Monday, March 29th. The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. along Highway 49 near Zion Church Road.

According to officials, a pedestrian was walking in or near the roadway when they were hit by a car. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and died at the accident scene. The cause of the accident has not been released at this time and the pedestrian’s identity has not been released. There were no other injuries reported as a result of the accident.

Police are still investigating the collision at this time. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No further details are available.
