Greensboro, NC (July 25, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving an impaired driver in Greensboro on Friday, July 23rd. The crash took place around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of West Wendover Avenue and Big Tree Way.

According to a report from the scene, 61-year-old Tyrone Terry Lambert, of Greensboro was operating a Nissan Versa when he came to a traffic light at the intersection of Wendover and Big Tree. At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing the road. Lambert failed to stop for the pedestrian, causing a collision. The pedestrian, who has no been identified at this time, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

Lambert remained at the site following the collision. After an investigation, police charged with him driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, and felony death by motor vehicle. He was taken to the Guilford County Jail and held under a $15,000 bond.

Greensboro, NC (July 15, 2021) – A pedestrian sustained critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash in Greensboro on Wednesday, July 14th. The crash was reported around 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of Randleman Road and Lawrence Street.

The Greensboro Police Department responded to the scene after an eyewitness called 911. The witness told dispatchers that a man was crossing the road when he was hit by a car. The man was later identified as a 39-year-old from Greensboro. The car that struck the man was a black Toyota Corolla made between 2015 and 2020. The Corolla fled the scene following the accident.

Rescue workers transported the injured victim to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition. Police are still looking for the vehicle and believe that it will have damage to its front grill and a temporary license plate.

Charlotte, NC (July 11, 2021) – Police in Charlotte responded to a fatal crash between a pedestrian and a vehicle early Saturday morning. The collision took place around 2:45 p.m. at the corner of LaSalle Street and Beatties Ford Road.

According to officials, the driver of a Mazda 3 came to the intersection and approached a red light. The driver failed to stop, however, and proceeded through the intersection, striking a pedestrian who was crossing the street. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. The pedestrian, later identified as Judy Sinclair, was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. The Mazda driver fled the scene before striking a Lexus ES350 a short distance away from the scene. The Lexus driver was seriously hurt and was also transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Police have not identified the Mazda driver at this time. An investigation into the collision remains ongoing. There is no word on what charges are expected to be filed.

Scotland County, NC (July 10, 2021) – Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Scotland County on Saturday, July 10th. The accident was reported around 1:30 a.m. on Armstrong Road in the community of Laurel Hill.

According to officials, an unidentified pedestrian was walking near the roadway when they were struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian, who was not identified following the crash, died at the accident scene. At this time, there is no information on the cause of the collision. The driver was not injured. It is not clear if the driver remained at the scene and there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed in connection with the crash.

Kill Devil Hills, NC (July 9, 2021) – A 36-year-old man from Kill Devil Hills was killed in a pedestrian crash that took place on Thursday, July 8th. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 158 at the intersection with Sportsman Drive.

According to police, Corey Feickert was crossing U.S. 158 on foot when he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 55-year-old Donald McClanning, Jr., of Kill Devil Hills. Rescue officials arrived at the scene and rushed Feickert to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Following an investigation, it was determined that McClanning was impaired. He was later arrested and charged with driving while impaired and felony death by motor vehicle. McClanning was taken to jail and placed under a $30,000 secured bond.

Davidson, NC (June 18, 2021) – Police in Davidson have identified the woman who was killed in a pedestrian crash on Thursday, June 17th. The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. on Main Street near the intersection with Chairman Blake Lane.

According to the Davidson Police Department, 64-year-old Suzanne Younts, was walking near the roadway when she was struck by a passing vehicle. Rescue crews rushed to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on Younts. She ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word on the cause of the accident at this time and it is not clear if the driver remained at the scene to speak with authorities. The pedestrian, who was not identified, died at the crash scene. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. Columbus County, NC (June 5, 2021) – A 50-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian crash that took place in Columbus County early Friday morning. The crash was reported just after 7:00 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 701 near the Holiday Motel in Whiteville.

According to a report, 50-year-old Jean Emmaniste Samedy was walking near the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle that was traveling on N.C. 701. Samedy suffered critical injuries and died at the accident scene. The driver fled the scene and was later located by troopers.
