Car Accidents in North Carolina
According to statistics that are published by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there were nearly 300,000 car accidents in North Carolina in 2018 and approximately 80,000 injured victims as a result of those accidents. A car accident takes place very suddenly and unexpectedly and can change your life at a moment’s notice. One minute you may be driving down the road minding your own business and the next you find yourself suffering from injuries with a long and extensive path to recovery. When a crash affects one of your family members, you are likely to feel the same stress as you care for them and face extensive medical treatment and high medical costs.
Under North Carolina law, crash victims and their families may have certain rights in this situation. If the crash was not your fault, you could be entitled to recover compensation for your injuries. For example, the other driver or their insurance company could have to reimburse you for your medical costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and potentially more. If you have been affected by a car accident in North Carolina, you should seek a skilled and experienced North Carolina car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
