High Point, NC (September 3, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who was involved in a hit-and-run bicycle crash in High Point on Saturday. The crash happened at 901 N. Main Street near the High Point Public Library.
According to police, John Daniel was riding a bicycle across North Main Street when he was hit by a 2010 Honda Civic driven by Lorenzo White, Jr. of Randleman. Several nearby witnesses ran across the street to offer medical aid to Daniel. White did not stop at the scene following the crash. Medical workers arrived at the scene and transported Daniel to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Police later located White and charged him with several offenses, including DWI, DWLR, felony hit-and-run, and felony serious injury by vehicle. He was taken to the Guilford County Jail where he was being held on bond following his arrest.
