Lexington, NC (May 25, 2020) – A serious hit-and-run crash was reported in Lexington on Saturday, May 23rd. The crash happened at 1703 Cotton Grove Road around 9:00 p.m.

According to the Lexington Police Department, 56-year-old Lisa Swicegood Fisher was operating a vehicle when she struck a motorcyclist. Fisher fled the scene after the crash and before the police could arrive. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the unidentified motorcyclist to Wake Forest Baptist Health with serious injuries. There is no information on exactly how the crash took place at this time.

Officers later located Fisher and took her into custody. She is charged with felony hit-and-run, open container, driving while impaired, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Randleman, NC (May 22, 2020) – The State Highway Patrol was on the scene of a serious crash in Randleman on Thursday, May 21st. The crash was reported on I-73 near mile marker 88 and Level Cross.

According to troopers, 24-year-old Amer Saifalnasr Mohamed, of Greensboro, was traveling northbound in a 2004 Toyota. Mohamed left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into several trees before overturning. Both Mohamed and his unidentified adult passenger suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to Moses H. Cone Hospital to receive treatment. There is no additional update on their conditions at this time.

Troopers charged Mohamed with exceeding a safe speed and driving while license revoked.

Lumberton, NC (May 22, 2020) – A teenager is dead and another person is injured after a Thursday crash in Lumberton. The collision took place around 11:45 p.m. on Old Whiteville Road.

According to the State Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old female was a passenger in a 2004 Hyundai being driven by 21-year-old Keanan Davon Young. Young was traveling south on Old Whiteville when he lost control of his vehicle on a wet roadway. The car exited the road to the left and struck a tree before coming to rest in a ditch.

Young was rushed to Southeastern Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The 17-year-old died at the crash scene. Police believe that Young was driving too fast for the road conditions. There is no word on whether any charges are pending at this time.

Greenville, NC (May 20, 2020) – The Greenville Police Department responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Tuesday. The crash took place just after 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Davis Street and W. 6th Street.

According to officers, a car was traveling at a high rate of speed on Davis Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway, traveled over a grassy patch, and struck a tree. One person was ejected from the vehicle and two others were trapped inside. The car caught fire after impact.

Rescue workers arrived on the scene but were unable to save three of the four occupants. Miranda Artis 29, was identified as one of the victims. The other two deceased individuals were not immediately identified. 31-year-old Sammie Madlock survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.
