Surry County, NC (August 19, 2020) – Police and EMS responded to the scene of an accident involving a tractor-trailer in Surry County. The crash took place on Monday, August 17th around 2:16 a.m.
Officers arrived on the scene in the northbound lanes of the highway near Clyde Hayes Road. Investigators learned that a car and a tractor-trailer were traveling in the same direction when they collided with one another. The reason for the crash is still under investigation at this time. EMS arrived and rendered medical aid to one person at the scene before the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. There is no word on the extent of their injuries at this time.
The roadway was closed while police and rescue crews remained on the scene but reopened for traffic later in the morning. No one involved in the crash was identified and there have been no charges issued at this time. There is no further information available.
